Multiplication Fact Drills

A third grade goal is to demonstrate multiplication fact fluency.  Research shows that practice is required to develop automaticity with math facts.  We will practice math facts daily with Xtra Math, games, puzzles, etc.  Students will also work their way through timed multiplication drills.  They will move to the next level after demonstrating mastery (30 problems correct in 90 seconds or less with 2 or fewer errors).  Practicing multiplication facts is something that you can do with your child throughout the school year.  Investing a little time now to memorize multiplication facts will greatly benefit your child as he or she starts multi-digit multiplication and division.  Below are the drills that your child will work through in third grade.
