Below are some great, free resources that I have come across:

We hope that Wide Open School helps make learning from home an experience that inspires kids, supports teachers, relieves families, and restores community.

This site was built in a matter of days on a shared vision. We plan to keep building until things get back to normal. A group of more than 25 organizations came together and raised their hands to help, and many more are joining on a daily basis. Watch for new features and content partners frequently.

Wide Open School is a free collection of the best online learning experiences for kids curated by the editors at Common Sense. There is so much good happening, and we are here to gather great stuff and organize it so teachers and families can easily find it and plan each day.

This crisis has reminded us of our deep appreciation for the work teachers do every day in their classrooms. At Wide Open School, we celebrate teachersand parentsas they take on this new challenge. We'll discover and highlight teachers who are figuring out how to light up an online classroom and invite them to share their tips and wisdom to help blend home and school. Wide Open School can only fulfill its mission if all kids and families can access it. We know that millions of kids are without home broadband and/or computers, leaving them without access to critical learning and support services. We will persistently highlight the need to connect all kids, and we won't rest until we have played our part in closing the digital divide. As we do so, Wide Open School will offer many resources that can be completed offline and on smartphones, as well as bilingual and English-language learner resources.

We created Hello Bello because parenting is hard. And near impossible to do alone.

Now we’re creating Camp Hello Bello... because parenting while being home all day is even harder. And we want to do it together (virtually, of course.)

The publisher and educational resource company Scholastic created a way to keep kids busy and learning while school closures keep them at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

Scholastic set up a “Learn From Home” website with four categories: PreK and Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2, Grades 3 to 5, and Grades 6+. Each section is already equipped with one week of content for students, with 15 additional days on the way.

Each day of content is filled with exciting articles and stories, videos, and fun learning challenges. The students can even go on virtual field trips or meet best-selling authors.

The website provides up to three hours of content each day and can be completed on any device.

To help educators during this time of coronavirus, we have pulled our most popular science lessons and are offering them for anyone to use for free. No account or login is needed.

All of the lessons below are expertly designed to engage students, achieve learning outcomes, and be easy for teachers to use. We have short mini-lessons that are completely digital and full lessons that include an activity. All of the activities are designed to use simple supplies a parent will likely already have at home.
