Other Fun/Simple Ideas:
  • Create your own book - you could use stickers or cut pictures from magazines and then write a story to match the pictures
  • Sidewalk Chalk - write word families/rhyming words (ex: cat, hat, sat, rat), write messages for neighbors to read on the sidewalk, practice letter names and sounds by writing them all mixed up and then jumping from one to another
  • Create a craft - make a butterfly and then write a story or sentence about a butterfly
  • Word Swat - write sight words/trick words on index cards or cut up paper.  Say the word & child swats it with a flyswatter.  
  • READ - Enjoy a book together! Modeling goodWriting a Book reading is great for children of all ages!
