More Ways to Learn at Home

Here are some websites, downloadable worksheets, and activities that you can do to keep the learning going at home! 

Please Note: All of these websites are either 100% free or they are currently offering free subscriptions in light of the circumstances. :) 
 
Free Educational Sites
Here are even MORE websites! Notes: Our class loves Vooks (Netflix of Books) and Wonderopolis (kids' research engine). GoNoodle provides really fun brain breaks. Time for Kids provides age-appropriate, readable news articles for kids. Your second grader already has a Learning A-Z account. See the “Our Class’s Accounts” tab for more information. StoryLine Online is a collection of videos where celebrities read picture books aloud.

Here is a list of the accounts we already have. Some of your third grader's log-in information is in the back of their home folder. If your third grader does not have the login information, please email me at [email protected]. Because it is sensitive log-in information, I would rather email it to you than post it on a public website. 

  • Epic! 
    This website is a whole database full of books of every type! It is accessible on laptops and computers and it is in the App Store for free. 
    The code is on the back of your second grader's maroon home folder. 
  • RAZ Kids
    This website is another database full of books of every type! It is also accessible on laptops and computers and it is in the App Store for free.

  • XtraMath 
    This website/app provides fact practice for your second grader. XtraMath is free on a laptop or computer, but the app does cost $4.99. If you need help accessing Xtramath, please email me at [email protected] and I can send you the parent flyer. 

  • PebbleGo
    This website is an interactive informational text website. We used this to research for our space projects! The school district pays for an account. This is only accessible on a web browser; there is no app. If you are interested in using it, please email me at [email protected] and I can send you the username and password.
     
  • IXL
    This website provides math and reading practice on your second grader's level.  It is available on laptops and computers and there is a free app in the App Store.
    The log-in information is on the back of your second grader's maroon home folder.
